Vietjet Direct O/W Ho Chi Minh City: PER $213, SYD $257, MEL $260, BNE $273; Home to SYD $201, MEL $207 (Oct-Jun) @ Skyspy
Vietjet flies non-stop to Ho Chi Minh City from Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. I ran every date from October to June in both directions, and the one-ways are where the value is right now.
Going over (Vietjet, non-stop)
Perth $213, 18 Oct, 6h 35m. Also $222 in February and $228 in January
Sydney $257, 6 May, 8h 50m. Under $270 most of May and June
Melbourne $260, 21 Apr, 8h 35m. $261 in May
Brisbane $273, 26 May, 8h 30m. Only one date that cheap, most are $300 plus
Coming home (Vietjet, non-stop)
To Sydney $201, 18 May. Around that price on 12 of the 22 dates I checked, mostly May to July
To Melbourne $207, 12 Jun
To Brisbane $213, 2 Jun
To Perth $143, 19 Dec, but that only showed up on the one date
Two one-ways or a return?
On the east coast, booking each way separately beats the return in May and June:
Sydney: $257 out on 6 May + $201 home on 18 May = $458, vs $478 return
Brisbane: $273 out on 26 May + $213 home on 2 Jun = $486, vs $537 return
Melbourne: $261 out + $209 home in May = $470, vs $483 return
From Perth, get the return instead: $412 non-stop, late November to mid December.
Elsewhere in Vietnam (one stop)
Perth: Da Nang $240, Phu Quoc $247, Hanoi $288 (AirAsia via KL, about 12h)
Sydney to Hanoi $325, Brisbane to Hanoi $339
Before you book
Vietjet's cheapest Eco fare is 7kg carry-on only. A checked bag costs extra, or comes with the Deluxe fare
Australians need a visa. The 90-day e-visa is US$25, done online, allow about a week
Skip Christmas. Over the school holidays it's $1,050 plus return with stops and no direct flights
The link goes to Perth to Ho Chi Minh City with the date filled in. Change From or To for the others.
Full disclosure: it's my site, it's free, no signup, it makes money off booking links like every flight comparison site.
Prices are one-way economy unless noted, checked today. Fares this low move quickly.
