WPI Flavour Info

All flavours are naturally sweetened. We use thaumatin for the fact that it is an all natural plant based sweetener, a superior flavour profile, a neutral insulin impact (as it is a protein) and being very gentle on the gut. A bit of trivia, thaumatin is about 10x the cost of artificial counterparts (eg. sucralose) and more than 5x the cost of stevia based on weight!

Please note that caffeine is never added. It is naturally occurring in our tea and coffee flavours (from the real tea and coffee that we use).

Also importantly, macros can vary widely depending upon the flavour. Some flavours do have lower protein percentages due to the flavouring we use. The lowest % protein flavours we have available are Aussie Choc Malt, Dark Chocolate, Caramelised Dutch Cookie. These flavours are all below 70% protein.

Flavour Descriptions and Sweetness

We have previously had many requests to include flavour descriptions. I confess these have been written by Chiara on our team (I do not have the creative wording ability for some of these descriptions!)

Aussie Choc Malt: We threw it right back to childhood with this one. Think back to that choc malt drink you had after school. Classic. Lightly sweet and malty, with soft milk chocolate notes to balance it out. Sweetness Scale: 3/5 Medium.
Banana: Ripe banana flavour with a soft, creamy finish. Comforting, familiar, and not overly sweet. Sweetness Scale: 3/5 Medium.
Brazilian Chocolate (Brigadeiro): Inspired by the classic Brazilian dessert found at parties and celebrations. Velvety chocolate layered with caramelised condensed milk notes. Rich, smooth, and dangerously easy to drink. Sweetness Scale: 4/5 Medium–high.
Caramelised Dutch Cookie: Warm caramelised cookie flavour with soft cinnamon spice through the finish. Think speculaas, but smoother and less intense on the gingerbread flavour. Sweetness Scale: 3/5 Medium.
Choc Cherry Delight: Rich dark chocolate with sweet cherry and a very subtle coconut finish. Nostalgic, indulgent, and effortlessly moreish. Sweetness Scale: 4/5 Medium–high.
Chocolate Honeycomb: Milk chocolate paired with sweet honeycomb notes and a velvety texture. Rich, playful, and dessert-leaning without going overboard. Sweetness Scale: 4/5 Medium–high.
Chocolate: Smooth, velvety chocolate with clear cocoa depth. Balanced sweetness without being over the top. Sweetness Scale: 4/5 Medium–high.
Crème Caramel: Layered toffee and butterscotch flavours with a creamy base and a subtle touch of salt. Rich, balanced, and quietly indulgent. Sweetness Scale: 4/5 Medium–high.
Dark Chocolate: Rich cocoa flavour with lower sweetness and a smooth, bittersweet finish. Bold, refined, and undeniably dark chocolate. Sweetness Scale: 3/5 Medium.
Earl Grey Milk Tea: A bergamot-forward black tea with a smooth, milky base. Elegant, balanced, and a genuine standout. Sweetness Scale: 4/5 Medium–high.
Hojicha Latte: Authentic roasted hojicha from Kyoto with mellow, umami depth. Creamy, lightly sweet, and beautifully smooth. Sweetness Scale: 3/5 Medium.

100% Australian Blended and Packed in our Sydney Facility (Except unflavoured which is packed only)
Our manufacturing facility is owned by us and is a NSW Licensed Food Facility with an approved Dairy Processing license. We do not use third parties.
We only use WPI in this protein - this is not a blend of other cheaper proteins (for example Whey Protein Concentrate/WPC, casein, plant proteins etc.)
Protein used is added hormone free, ultra and micro filtered and cold pressed.
Naturally sweetened with thaumatin. We do not use artificial sweeteners.
Soy free - we use sunflower lecithin instead of soy lecithin (soy is common in whey proteins)

Why is WPI more expensive than… WPI is an expensive ingredient due to the additional processing required relative to WPC (for example). Our product is not a whey blend, the key ingredient is Whey Isolate. We previously published a comparison between our product and Musashi 100% Whey and ON Gold Standard here(youtube.com). Please note this video is 2 years old, so some figures are a bit off (prices especially!).
When is your next deal?: Honestly we don't know. Whey protein pricing is continuing to increase this year and stock remains limited globally. We 100% are committed to doing deals here on OzBargain, we just cannot commit to when our next offer will be.

A word of thanks and some more stuff…

After our "deal hiatus" in 2025, our last "official" deal in March sold out in under 10 hours. I was floored by the amount of support and want to again thank everyone for the continued support we receive on this platform.

As everyone is probably aware, protein prices continue to rise. Some of our competitors have recently increased and/or announced price increases on whey proteins. For full transparency, we will also be announcing a further price increase on both our WPI and Signature Proteins as a direct result of these wholesale price increases in June. At present, I do not see any signs of prices coming back down.
