AppleCare One $29.99/Mth: Cover 3 Apple Devices up to 4 Years Old (+$8.99 Ea Extra) @ Apple AU
Live from Tuesday 4 August.
$29.99/month covers up to 3 Apple devices. Extra devices are $8.99/month each, no cap on how many you add.
The big one: you can add devices you already own, as long as they're under 4 years old (1 year for headphones). AppleCare+ normally has to be bought within 60 days of getting the device, so a lot of gear that was previously impossible to cover can now be covered.
Devices need to pass a diagnostic check and be signed into your Apple Account. There's a 4 day wait after a new device ships before you can add it.
What's covered
- Unlimited accidental damage repairs (service fee per claim)
- Free battery replacement once it drops below 80%
- 24/7 support, genuine parts, Apple or authorised repairer
- Theft and loss for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch — 3 claims a year, shared across everything on the plan
- iPad and Watch theft/loss is new to Australia, it used to be iPhone only
- Macs and AirPods get damage cover but no theft/loss
Service fees still apply (this isn't free repairs)
- iPhone/iPad screen or back glass: $45
- Other accidental damage: $149
- Theft or loss: $229
- Mac screen or enclosure: $79–$149
- Other Mac damage: $249–$429
- AirPods: $45

Does the maths work?
Depends entirely on what you own.
| Devices | Separate AppleCare+ | AppleCare One |
|---|---|---|
| Base iPhone + base iPad + Watch (with theft/loss) | $29.47/mth | $29.99/mth |
| iPhone 17 Pro Max + 13" iPad Pro M4 + 16" MacBook Pro | $56.31/mth | $29.99/mth |
So if you're on cheaper devices it's a wash, don't bother. If you've got Pro gear or more than three things, it's around $315/year better. Run your own numbers, prices vary a lot by model, you can look yours up here(agreementsales.apple.com).
Trade a covered device in and buy the replacement from Apple, and the old one drops off the plan automatically while the new device takes its place. You can add devices any time you're under three; a fourth onwards costs $8.99/mth each.
Stuff people will bring up
"Australia tax." US price is $19.99, which is about $28.50 AUD right now, or roughly $31 with GST on top. Not this time.
"ACL covers this." ACL covers manufacturing faults and you shouldn't pay extra for that. It doesn't cover you dropping your phone or losing your watch at the beach. That's what this is for.
"Contents insurance covers it." Worth checking, some policies do cover portable valuables. You'll wear an excess and a claim on your record though, and it won't touch a $45 screen fix or a worn out battery.

Posting because the 4 year eligibility is new and a lot of people here have older gear sitting around that couldn't be covered before.
